GWAS meta-analysis of post-traumatic osteoarthritis of the knee
Overall objective: To identify genome wide significant signals associated with post-traumatic osteoarthritis (PTOA) of the knee, the osteoarthritis that follows significant knee injury in a proportion of people.
This work aims to answer the important question of how similar or different PTOA is to ‘usual’ osteoarthritis. In addition to a full GWAS meta-analysis, we aim to:
- study the association of known osteoarthritis genetic risk variants and osteoarthritis-based genetic risk scores with PTOA
- describe the shared and non-shared genetic risks of PTOA
